چکیده

The low-flow regime of a river may be described in terms of various characteristics (indices). These characteristics may have multiple use in different areas of water-related research and practice and uncertainty often exists as to which low-flow characteristic is the most suitable for a specific purpose. The paper illustrates that many low-flow characteristics exhibit a strong intercorrelation and therefore one low-flow index may often be derived from another by means of regression relationships. Consequently, only one “primary” low-flow index may need to be initially estimated (either from available time series or by regionalisation techniques). The study examines various types of low-flow indices which have been estimated from more then 200 gauged daily streamflow records in South Africa. Several indices extracted from one day long-term annual flow duration curves have been used as primary characteristics. The relationships between low-flow characteristics are illustrated on the scale of the entire country and on the scale of two smaller drainage regions. *To whom all correspondence should be addressed. برآورد منطقه‌ای جریان‌های کم رودخانه‌های حوضه آبریز مازندران

An approach for regional low flow frequency analysis is to use multiple regression techniques for obtaining relationships between low flows with specific return periods and catchments characteristics. In this paper, this method has been used. After single-site frequency analysis for 20 stream gauging stations, homogeneity test was performed. Regional relationships between low flows with return ...

Regional Analysis Low Flows in the Karkheh and Karoon Catchments

Analysis of low flow is one of the important considerations in any water resource project. Meanwhile, as a general idea it seems that flow control is more important than drought mitigation but it is necessary to pay more attention to drought problem in future projects. In this paper, available data for 28 selected watersheds were analyzed and then Flow Duration Curve was drew, and discharge of ...

Estimation of Friction Coefficient in Sediment Contained Flow through Rockfill

An increase in the flow velocity in flowthrough large porous media and deflection of flow regime from Darcy law causes a nonlinear relationship between hydraulic gradient and pore velocity of media. So many investigations have done previously in such Medias. One of the most important subjects in flowthrough large porous media is relationship between friction coefficient and flow characteristics...

استفاده از مدل دبی‌های آستانه جهت بررسی تغییرات فصلی جریان‌های کم (مطالعه موردی رودخانه هلیل رود)

Low flow estimation and its characteristics play an important role in hydrologic studies. However, some low flow events are ignored compared with the lowest annual low flow that may have high risk. These events are taken into consideration by the use of partial duration or peak over threshold models. In this study, a 7-day low flow was applied for frequency distribution and threshold, and the l...
